About Me & My Family

Thanks for your interest in my products and designs.

I’m Jennifer, and I have loved horses and playing with tack since I was a little girl. I guess it started with Breyer Horses, I was cutting their tack apart and creating my own.

“The Tack Shed” started when I purchased my mother-in-laws yard shed to be used for my tack.  It was  then moved to a friends house where I had been boarding.  My shed is like a typical man’s garage,  my personal space! It is almost always cleaner than my house, and if you can’t find me, that’s where I am.  So when I had to come up with a name for my business it seemed to be the best fit “The Tack Shed.” My little shed is now in my backyard along with my two horses Andrew & Olie.

Text Box: “Andrew”
I bought Andrew when he was a yearling. It was during a red eye rescue mission that I had to decide whether or not to make him mine. Who knew the surprises and the love would bring us so close. Now 7 yrs later with some bumps, bruises and even a couple of stitches, we have managed to learn a lot from each other.
This year we plan to work on our dressage moves and jump some fences…
More to “Show & Tell” about Andrew later!
Text Box: JB Up in Smoke “Olie”
Olie was also a yearling when I bought him. I went to the sale looking for a cow horse with color, and almost missed him! He was stalled with 2 others that kept him hidden. I made one more pass through the barn and that's when his gorgeous hip and dorsal stripe caught my attention. As we approached his stall we noticed that he had a halter that was way to small on him. Upon a closer look, it was clear to us that it was embedded into the bridge of his nose. After my purchase the seller commented that she could never approach him to remove it.
Olie’s temperament is like that of a golden retriever; he craves attention, follows you everywhere, always wants to help, and will play for hours.
